Boyd K. Packer

The Lord's Promises to You

Shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones and shall run and not be weary and shall walk and not faint.

Shall find wisdom and great treasure of knowledge, even hidden treasures.

The destroying angel shall pass by them and not slay them.

"I promise you that the way will be easier and you shall have a composure of mind and a confident attitude toward life and the future."

"You shall be warned of dangers and shall be guided through the whisperings of the Holy Spirit."

"You will be guided and warned and taught and blessed."

"I bear witness that this revelation is a powerful protection to all members of the Church, particularly the youth. The Lord will be with you; you will be guided."

Boyd K. Packer "The Word of Wisdom—the Principle and the Promise." May 1996 Ensign - Doctrine and Covenants 89:18-21

The Lord's Promises to You

"I am not saying that disease will not come, that death will not strike. ...But I do not hesitate to say that in this brief but inclusive statement of the Lord (D&C 89) is found counsel, given with a promise, which, if more widely observed, would save untold pain and suffering and lead not only to increased physical well being but also to great and satisfying 'treasures of knowledge' of the things of God."

President Gordon B. Hinckley (while 1st counselor). May 1986 Ensign, p. 49, "Come and Partake".
